NORTH Ayrshire Council has confirmed that the B777 at Kirkland Bridge will close for around a week to allow for planned footway widening and resurfacing works.

The planned improvements are being carried out as part of the preparations for the new Garnock Community Campus.

The works will also include the provision of new traffic signals, along with a pedestrian crossing.

The road will be closed from October 8 to October 16 between 9am and 6pm each day. A diversion route will be in place.

A spokesman for North Ayrshire Council said: “Every effort is being made to minimise any disruption to residents and motorists during these essential works which are necessary to upgrade the footpaths. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
