SCOUTS and Beavers in Dalry were celebrating as demolition started on their old building to make way for their fantastic new hall.
The new building will be the same size as the old one but will be warmer and wind and water-tight.
A spokesperson for the 55th Scout Group said: “It’s a dream come true. A safe, secure and warm place to hold our Scout groups in will be great. We will also have lots of storage space for all our equipment.”
As well as a huge games hall, which can double as a function area, there will be two meeting rooms, a super new kitchen and a training room.
There will also be disabled access and amenities in the new hall.
It is hoped that the general public will also make use of the new facilities.
A member of the public said of the new development: “It’s sad to see the old hall go but I can’t wait to see the new hall opened.”
The 55th Scout Group would like to thank their “very generous sponsors for their continued support”.
These include: Community Windpower Ltd, Dalry Parish Boundary, M & S, Leader funding and Awards for All.
