A GIG to revive an iconic Kilbirnie dance hall was a huge sell-out at the weekend.
Following a £10,000 renovation by North Ayrshire Council, the town’s Walker Hall played host to a special revival gig.
Kilbirnie Ladeside Football Club (KLFC), in conjunction with a young indie band called Dogtooth, arranged ‘The Walker Hall Revival’ on Saturday, February 25.
The idea was to bring people back to the town of Kilbirnie and make the Walker Hall a hotspot once again as it had been in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Revellers at the weekend were entertained by Dogtooth, DF118, Esperanza, and DJ Kurtis Whitelock.
Jennifer Hewitson, whose son John fronts Dogtooth, said: “It was absolutely fantastic. The place was completely jumping – it was absolutely full.
“It was great to see the town of Kilbirnie busy. It was really good for the town.
“Hats off to everyone who organised it. It was a complete success.”
