NETBALL is one of the fastest rising sports and proved a huge hit at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Now moves are being made to capitalise on the sport’s popularity locally.
Kilwinning Netball Club recently set up Garnock Junior Netball Club and a Bounce Back to Netball Club with sessions held at the new Garnock Community Campus.
The junior club is run every Tuesday, from 7pm to 7.30pm for secondary school pupils, costing £3 per session.
The Bounce Back to Netball Club for adults will follow the junior club each Tuesday, from 8.30pm until 9.30pm.
This club’s aim is to encourage people to try netball for the first time or to return to the sport.
These two Garnock groups are averaging 14 to 17 members a night, but have only been running three weeks so it’s a good start.
The sessions are being led by the group’s enthusiastic and passionate coaches and committee who all volunteer their time.
Anyone interested in joining can contact club coach Martha Thomson on 07769 691562.
