OVER 2,000 petition signatures have been handed over to a local bank after it was scheduled for closure.
TSB recently announced closures of two of their branches in the Garnock Valley and SNP Council candidate Joy Brahim started a signature to try and get bank bosses to rethink their decision in Dalry.
Joy presented the signatures to the branch earlier this week and said: “Like many people, I was shocked to find out that TSB plans to close its Dalry branch in June. I began a campaign, supported by local residents and businesses, to save this branch.
“On Monday, March 27, I presented a petition of 2000 signatures to the branch together with local businesswoman Brenda Reilly, calling on the TSB to retain its Dalry branch.
“I would like to thank all those who supported the campaign and anticipate a response within weeks.”
