Moira and Bill Haining, co-ordinators of Beith Cancer Support Group, are delighted at the generosity of Beith Co-op and the local public.
They are pictured at the recent presentation marking the £4,795.09 received by their group from The Co-op Community Fund
Also pictured are members of Beith Playground Action Group who received £4,208 for their group.
Moira and Bill said: “We have always known the generosity of the local community but this cheque for £4795.09 from The Co-op Community Reward Fund exceeds all.
“It is also a mark of good management and staff in our local supermarket when local people patronise it to this extent, raising so much for local charities.
“The local community also patronise the thrift shop from which we have received donations of £3000 each year, over many years.
“All this, plus many other donations along with our fundraising enables us to provide cancer patients throughout the Garnock Valley with transport to and from hospital for which they are most appreciative. Again many thanks.”
