TODAY’S Open Day at Hessilhead Wildlife Centre is expected to be the charity’s busiest.
The centre is anticipating its busiest ever year, so there will be lots of baby birds and animals to see.
As the Herald reported previously, the event takes place at the centre in Gateside from 12- 4pm and includes guided tours, stalls, plants, food, facepainting, crafts, and much more.
We now understand that Baldy, the charity’s resident spineless hedgehog, will be among the animals at the event.
Baldy arrived at the centre as a baby in November 2014 and never grew spines.
Her lack of prickles is thought to be congenital but it means that she cannot protect herself and so can never be released into the wild.
Entry to the Open Day is £2 for adults and free for kids. Free car parking. No dogs allowed.
