A 21-year-old man has been jailed for seven months after assaulting a man on a train.
Ben Burke, of Newton Street in Kilbirnie, pled guilty to one charge of assault at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
Burke assaulted the man, whose identity is unknown, onboard a train between Johnston and Glengarnock on December 29 last year.
The train was near Glengarnock when Burke headbutted the man and repeatedly punched him.
