A GARNOCK Valley man has tragically died whilst on holiday in the Bulgarian resort of Sunny Beach.

20-year-old Cameron Russell, from Dalry, died on Thursday after what was described as a 'tragic accident'.

Cameron worked for Clearwater Ltd and in a statement on their Facebook page they paid tribute to the former Garnock Academy pupil and said: "It's with great sadness I have to tell everyone that we lost one of our young digger drivers today after a tragic accident on holiday.

"Cameron 'Buff' Russell started with the company 3 years ago and just turned 20 a few weeks ago, he was a credit to the company and his mother and father.

"RIP young cammy you will be sorely missed."

Cameron's football team, Dalry Tartan AFC, said on Facebook: "It's with great sadness I have to write this a member of our club Cammy 'Buff' Russell has sadly passed away.

"Cammy was loyal and true to the club. It's not only loss to our club but the community of Dalry itself. Cammy was genuine good guy not only a player but a close friend to all of us who will always be in our hearts and greatly missed.

"At this time all our thoughts and well wishes are with Cammy's family and friends.

"Shine bright young legend, love and miss you wee man."

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "The British Embassy in Bulgaria is providing assistance to the family of a British man who has died in Sunny Beach."
