ONE person was injured and a motorist was reported for careless driving after two road collisions occurred within a hours of each other in the Beith area.

Police were alerted just after midnight on Saturday, August 26 to a road traffic collision at Manrahead Roundabout in Beith involving two vehicles.

One person was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment and another person was reported for driving without due care or attention.

Police also attended another incident hours earlier. At around 9pm on Friday, August 25, officers responded to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle near Whitestones Farm outside Gateside.

According to police, an ambulance was within the area at the time and stopped to offer assistance.

It is thought that the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision did not require medical treatment.
