A 62-year-old man has admitted to hitting another man on the head with a bag of cans at a Beith supermarket.
James Gorman, of Eglinton Street in Beith, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and pled guilty to one charge of Assault to Injury.
Gorman assaulted the man at the Day-Today store on November 14 of last year. He struck the man on the head with a bag containing cans of liquid and thereafter punched him on the head and body to his injury.
The case was adjourned until October for the court to obtain a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Assessment. Gorman was bailed until that date.
