POLICE in the Garnock Valley are appealing for information after a 37-year-old woman was killed in a road crash near Beith

Officers from the Divisional Road Policing Unit are continuing enquiries and appealing for information after a fatal road crash on the A736 near to Burnhouse in North Ayrshire on Saturday, November 11.

Around 6.10pm on Saturday 11 November 2017, a 37-year-old woman was driving a grey coloured Seat Ibiza southbound on the A736 when it was involved in a collision with a bronze coloured Renault Grand Scenic being driven northbound by a 57-year-old man.

Emergency services attended and the 37-year-old driver of the Seat Ibiza was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Renault was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for leg injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash, and Sergeant Ian Thornton of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based in Irvine is appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who may have seen the vehicles being driven prior to the collision.
