THE woman killed in a crash near to Beith has been named as 37-year-old Kirsty McBryde.
Kirsty was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash with another car shortly after 6pm on Saturday, November 11.
The driver of the other car, a Renault, was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for leg injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
Enquiries are continuing into the cause and Sergeant Ian Thornton of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based in Irvine is appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who may have seen the vehicles being driven prior to the collision.
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3239 of 11th November.
A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
