POLICE have seized more than £4,000 worth drugs in a raid in the Garnock Valley.

The seizure took place last Tuesday, December 12, after officers executed a search warrant at an address in Knoxville Road, Kilbirnie, and recovered the controlled drugs, believed to be heroin and cannabis resin.

Police estimated that the drugs are valued at £4,700. Two men aged 34 and 43 years were arrested for alleged drug offences and held in police custody to appear at court.

A report relating to this operation has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Joe Murdoch of the Garnock Valley Locality Policing Team, said: “This recovery was as a direct result of the information we received from the Kilbirnie community. Support from members of the public is key to our work and this recovery demonstrates our commitment to acting on the information we receive, to tackling drugs and drug related crime, and preventing these drugs from circulation within North Ayrshire and beyond.

“I would encourage anyone with information regarding drugs activity in their area to contact their local policing team by dialling ‘101’, or in an emergency by dialling ‘999’.
