A DALRY dental worker has decided to call it a day after 45 years working in the town.

Elizabeth Cox has been working in the local dental surgery, currently known as One Dental Care, since she was a teenager under Mr Hugh Murray until the present day.

She worked as a dental nurse for 25 years and has served as the Practice Manager for the past 20 years.

As an elder in the local church and a member of the choir, Elizabeth is a well-known face around the town and she will spend more time with her mum and taking part in hobbies, such as arts and crafts.

Her last official day is next Friday, December 29 and the staff are planning a thank you celebration for early next year.

Lorraine Hands, who is taking over as Practice Manager, said: β€œIt is going to be hard for us all with Elizabeth goes. She held us together for us all.”

All of us at the Herald wish Elizabeth a long and happy retirement.
