A man who admitted to possessing drugs with intent to supply has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Jason McKay had previously pleaded guilty to two charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court. His pleas of not guilty to four other charges were accepted by the prosecutor.

The 44-year-old returned to the court last week for sentencing following social work reports.

McKay was found in possession of cannabis with intent to supply it to another or others at his home in Kilbirnie’s Mossend Avenue on March 29 of last year.

He was also found in possession of cannabis resin with intent to supply it to another or others on the same date and at the same address.

McKay was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within six months.

He was also placed on a Restriction of Liberty Order with the condition that he remain within his home address between 7pm and 7am for a period of eight weeks.
