'IT'S LIKE OUR HONEYMOON'

DRIVING along a stretch of desert road in a clapped out Clio during the height of summer may not seem like most people's idea of a honeymoon - but for Alex and Elena Fulton it's a dream come true.

The Beith couple will be joined by their American friend Michael Kundak-Cowel, 24, when they set off on their 10,000 mile Mongol Rally charity road trip from the UK to Mongolia on July 14.

Elena, 28, said it's not quite the honeymoon she imagined but it will be memorable one. "We got married in June last year and then in August we found out we had got one of the 50 team places for the Rally."
