50 JOBS SET TO GO AT DSM PLANT

DSM Nutritional Products in Dalry are planning to make 50 of their 370-strong workforce redundant.

Unions, politicians and council cheifs this week vowed to work together to try and avert an employment disaster at the plant - the only Vitamin C producer in the world outside China.

Site Director Markus Butler said last Wednesday: "Today the management of the DSM site in Dalry informed its employees and their representatives of a proposed restructuring to significantly improve the competativeness of the site and its signature product, Vitamin C."
