A DREAM was realised by Kilbirnie youngster and ice hockey-mad Tom McGuinness when he took to the ice with legendary player Drew Miller in one of his final appearances for Braehead Clan.

The eight-year-old, who is a pupil at Brisbane Primary School in Largs, was selected as a mascot by the Elite Ice Hockey League club for their game against Cardiff Devils on December 22.

It was the perfect early Christmas present for Tom who enjoyed chatting to Miller, who returned back across the pond last week to return to Detroit Redwings.
