FOUR Kilbirnie men have appeared in court accused of the theft of several quad bikes and motor vehicles in the Borders.
The incidents are alleged to have taken place in Stow, Lauder, Galashiels and Innerleithen last week.
Robert Smith, 36, William Ward, 30, Thomas O’Hara, 30, and Declyn Haggarty, 17, all from Kilbirnie, have been charged on petition.
All four made no plea or declaration at Selkirk Sheriff Court and the case was continued for further examination.
They are all accused of four counts of thefts of motor vehicles, housebreaking with intent to steal, two thefts, an attempted housebreaking with intent to steal and vandalism.
They were granted bail and their next court appearance has yet to be confirmed.
