CHLOE Rossie from RSPB Lochwinnoch writes with news from the reserve.

We have had a fabulous June here at the reserve.

Our 40th birthday party was a great success.

It was a fantastic turnout and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.

As for wildlife on the reserve we have had several sightings of two osprey fishing over the Barr Loch throughout June.

A kingfisher was also seen fishing along the Aird Meadow loch and a nuthatch was seen along the Barr Loch.

There has also been plenty of chicks out and about and enjoying the reserve with their parents, including a family of coots seen in front of the hide, goosander with nine chicks on the Calder Mouth and some very cute cygnets coming up to the visitor centre nearly every day!

Our moth enthusiast Tabby has identified some fantastic looking moths throughout the month including the very colourful Tiger moth.
