BRAVE ‘Bionic Mum’ Corinne Hutton has been nominated for the Woman of the Year Award.
Friends and family of the 44-year-old from Lochwinnoch – due to receive the UK’s first double hand transplant later this year – have been so moved and inspired by her courage and her work with the charity she set up Finding Your Feet they have put her forward for the prestigious gong.
Finding Your Feet offers support to amputees via counselling, therapy, assistance at home, financial support or treatment that the NHS cannot otherwise provide.
On hearing she had been nominated, Corinne said: “I am both flattered and humbled to find out I have been nominated for the award.
“I have no doubt that I’m up against many other deserving women and regardless of who wins, I think the award can only highlight the strength and bravery of many women out there.” The Woman of the Year Award – now in its 60th year – recognises women who have achieved exceptional things and inspired others.
