STAFF at Beith chemical company Bonnymans were so moved by the plight of Ebola virus sufferers in Sierra Leone they have shipped a pallet of disinfectant to the country.

Melanie Trushell, Business Development Manager at Bonnymans said: “We would like the community to know that we are supporting the relief workers in the fight against the Ebola virus and hope that other companies follow suit and give whatever they can to help.” The deadly virus has claimed more than 2,800 lives in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. The disinfectant will be used in hopspitals and medical centres to help stem the spread of the disease.

The donation was made via the charity Scotia Aid Sierra Leone.
