A KILBIRNIE teen’s ambitions to travel to Africa next summer is 10k and £300 closer this week.
Chelsea Simpson needs to raise money to fund her trip to Kenya to take part in the Kenya World Challenge – an expedition to the East African country that allows young people to experience different cultures.
Her friend Andrew Hepburn went the extra mile – or 10k to be precise – by completing the Great Glasgow Run with sponsorship from friends, family and workmates.
Chelsea has successfully reached the amount required for the world challenge and is now raising funds to cover kit and inoculations required for the trip.
Along with her mum Jean Cairns, Chelsea has also been organising a clothes bank which she hopes everyone will continue to support with donations and collections.
Chelsea and mum and dad Jean and Alan Cairns wish to say a big thank you to kind-hearted Andrew and everyone who sponsored him.
