DALRY Community Sports Club aims to increase access to sports and leisure opportunities for the people of the town and the surrounding areas, and encourage a more positive and healthy lifestyle for people of all ages.

The club held a sports ‘taster day’ last week organised by volunteers with support from Active Schools, KA Leisure and other local sports clubs.

The event was held at Dalry Primary School with fourteen different clubs involved and over 150 children came along to take part in the free event with a further 100 adults attending.

Sports the kids could get a taste of included karate, bowling, gymnastics, rugby, soccer, table tennis and many more.

Allan McGinlay from DCSC said: “DCSC would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in setting up the Taster Day, and to all those who attended and participated.” Local parent Russell Hamilton said: “I thought it was a very well organised event.

“My kids were really encouraged to get involved and there was a good enough breadth of activities that there really was something for everyone.

“My son discovered a new sport and is starting a new club as a result.

“Big thanks to Dalry Community Sports Club.
