A DOG named Sandy has been missing since Saturday, November 22 and his owner is very keen to see him returned fit and healthy.   On Saturday, Sandy and his owner Kenny Parrish went to feed Kenny’s horse as they do every day.

Kenny was busy filling the troughs when Sandy just disappeared from the field, Sandy wasn’t on a lead.

The field is located next to the cemetery on Kings Road, Beith.

One side of the field is bordered by the Dalry/Lochwinnoch railway.

Sandy is only around four months old in the photograph and he is now a year old but his colouring hasn’t changed.

On his lower chest he has two white markings.

He is microchipped but wasn’t wearing a collar when he disappeared.

Sandy is of a type which is seen as 'desirable' for hare coursing, hunting and racing.

But his owner admits  Sandy has 'nothing between the lugs' – claiming the loveable mutt is as 'thick as mince'.

Kenny has been offered cash money for Sandy at horse sales and auctions and even by people approaching his house, but he said: “I wouldn’t part with him for all the gold in the world.

"Sandy is an intact male and may have been lifted for breeding purposes, but I don’t know this for sure.” Kenny and his friend Carole Girvan have been working tirelessly to find Sandy.

Carole said: “The police, the pounds, the local taxi service, Scotrail, SSPCA and many websites have been informed and the support shown by complete strangers with offers to help search has been amazing and much appreciated.

“Kenny is desperate to know what has happened to Sandy.

"He misses him dreadfully and is lost without him.

"Kenny lives on his own and says the house is ‘too quiet, too quiet’.

"His distress is obvious but he is putting a brave face on.

“He would do anything to have him back or at least find out what his fate was.

“Sandy is adored and spoiled rotten, he is a funny, friendly, playful dog, and is normally attached to Kenny at the hip.

"Kenny would be so grateful to anyone with any information.

"This wee dog needs to be home.” Carole can be contacted on 01505 228868 and Kenny’s mobile is 07743 565 726.
