BEITH District Young Farmers’ Club has made a generous donation to the Children’s Ward at University Hospital Crosshouse.

The club held a charity stock judging, auction, raffle and social evening to raise money and the group’s younger members also got involved by making and selling loom bands.

The young farmers received kind donations from local people and companies which they used for an auction and a raffle.

The total raised was an amazing £8,722 which is being divided between the Children’s Ward at University Hospital Crosshouse and the special care baby unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Jean Davies, Clinical Nurse Manager for Paediatrics, commented: “We would like to thank the Beith District Young Farmers’ Club and everyone who contributed to this kind donation.

“People’s generosity never ceases to amaze us.

“This donation will be used to fund an artist and Clowndoctor sessions for our children, a wheelchair, photo album, camera, travel cot, buggy, car seat and wall art.

“All of which will help the children we care for.”
