A DALRY man has been jailed after he admitted stealing from the town’s Factory Shop earlier this year.
Brian Frew, 22, of Lynn Avenue, was within the shop just before midday on September 10 when he tried on a pair of boots and selected a jacket from the display whilst still wearing the boots.
He then left with the jacket under his arm, still wearing the boots. Workers from the shop chased after him but he got away with the goods worth £55. McSorley, defending, said that his client was currently remanded in prison.
Sheriff R. McFarlane fined Frew £300 but no time to pay was sought so the alternative of 28 days imprisonment was enforced.
