A DALRY man has been jailed after getting caught with almost £700 worth of heroin with intent to supply.
Rinaldo Gaudino, 44, of Townend Street appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week where it was said that he was caught with 9.6g of heroin, worth £670.
Mr Muir, defending, said that his client had an issue with the drug but didn’t have a substantial record.
He pled guilty on November 7 but he said that this was not the case when social work reports were being compiled.
Mr Muir said: “The problem is that it is difficult to work with someone who is in complete denial in a community setting.
"A restriction of liberty order would be available to the court.” Sheriff Watson took a dim view of the offence and said: “It is disappointing that you pled guilty and said that you didn’t do it.
“You deserve no sympathy because you are an uremorseful drug dealer.” Gaudino was sentenced to six months imprisonment. Before he led to the cells, he asked if he could say something – to which Sheriff Watson replied with a stern “no”.
