MUM Corinne Hutton, who lost both hands and feet after suffering septicaemia in hospital, is organising a charity cycle.

Corinne, who lives near Beith, is the founder of the charity Finding Your Feet, which has already helped amputees across the country The 44-year-old was rushed into hospital with pneumonia in 2013 and contracted septicaemia within a day of admission.

The condition left her with a condition similar to frostbite, which led to her hands being amputated at the wrists and her legs removed from the knees down.

But she bounced back remarkably, throwing herself into charity work.

And she is now set to become the first person in the UK to receive a double hand transplant, an operation that will take place as soon as a suitable donor is found.

The procedure will take place in Leeds Royal Infirmary and will be led by Professor Simon Kay and his team.

Corinne has her bags packed and is instantly ready to travel to Leeds for the operation.

Meanwhile, she is concentrating on raising funds for her charity.

One event is a cycle ride around Cumbrae on Sunday May 31.

There will be a family cycle, entertainment, live music, food and drink, medal and goody bag for all entrants.

Entrance fee is £5 per person with £20 maximum for a family group of four or more. Those who are sponsored will also receive a free T-shirt.

The Millport Family Fun’raiser is going to be a great day out for the whole family so get signed up! The fun packed day will include a sponsored cycle round Cumbrae, then back to Millport for a browse round the array of craft stalls, while the kids are kept entertained with a host of exciting activities.
