A musical spectacular is set to take the area by storm next month, with the return of the North Ayrshire Tattoo.

Based on its success last year, the event which brings together many local musical talents for an unforgettable night of entertainment will be back and better than ever.

The event will kick-start at 7pm at Dalry Primary School on Friday, May 8.

North Ayrshire Music Service has been working in partnership with the Irvine and District Pipe Band, the Isle of Cumbrae Pipe Band and Caledonia Piping Club to stage the tattoo style event which will showcase a range of performances following a fitting Scottish theme.

Local school pupils will get their chance to shine, with choirs from Lawthorn, Glebe, St Luke’s and St Mark’s Primaries, set to take the stage.

North Ayrshire Council staff will also be in the spotlight with a special performance from the Workplace Choir.

Guests will hear from North Ayrshire schools platinum award-winning Concert Band and the schools Traditional Music Group and Pipe Band among other spectacular musicians.

Keeping the night in high spirits, highland dancers will give a traditional show.

Musicians and spectators will then come together for a grand finale piece with the primary school choirs leading the singing with the massed bands of Mull of Kintyre.
