WORK to turn a derelict site in Beith into a community garden is making progress – but volunteers are needed to make the dream a reality.
The plot created after the Coach House in Wilson Street was demolished was cleaned up with the help of the local Scouts and the idea to turn it into an attractive green space for the community was born.
Local companies have thrown their support behind the project with equipment, materials and plants and volunters are now ready to start landscaping the site.
Locals who would like to help out should go along today (Thursday, September 17) at 1pm when the work will be kicked off.
If you can’t make it tomorrow, more work parties will be meeting every Thursday.
