Officers are appealing for witnesses after a fight between a group of men broke out on board a train travelling between Glasgow and Kilwinning.

Around 8.10pm on Saturday, April 9 a group of four men are reported to have been harassing a woman in the rear carriage of the 19.45 Glasgow Central to Largs service as it travelled between Paisley and Kilwinning.

It is believed three of the group got off the train at Dalry. A fourth man was arrested at Kilwinning for separate offences.

One of the suspects is described as being aged between 25 and 30 years, about 5’8” in height, stocky build, fair hair and wearing a blue jumper.

Another was about 40 years of age, about 6’1” in height, medium build and bald. He was wearing a brown leather jacket, beige jumper with white shirt underneath, blue jeans with brown suede desert-style boots.

Constable Siobhan Nixon, the officer in charge of the enquiry, is appealing for anyone who was on the train or the stations and has information which can assist the enquiry to contact British Transport Police (BTP).

BTP can be contacted on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016. Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
