A RECENTLY established club in Kilwinning has already had national success and they want you to get involved.
Kilwinning Whippet Racing Club race twice a week at the Dirrans Park in the town and in less than a year they have, as a club, already nurtured and produced two National Racing Champions, a Whippet Club Racing Association Champion, as well as two Scottish Champions and a Scottish Puppy Derby Winner.
It’s an unbelievable amount of success in such a short time.
However, it’s not only the Whippets who do the club proud, success has also come in the form of their Lurchers, Collies and Spaniels at dog shows around the country.
They have many breeds of dogs who are members of the club and enjoy coming along for some racing/runs on the track.
A spokesperson said: “From big Lurchers to small Bichon Fries, all dogs are welcome to head along for a run.
“It’s great for your dog’s fitness and an excellent way to get your dog socialising with other dogs.”
The club is very family friendly, as can be seen by the picture above of the younger members with their dogs.
The club meet on a Wednesday evening from 6pm and on Sundays from 11am.
There is also the added benefit of an onsite parking, toilets and cafe.
To find our more, join their Facebook group ‘Kilwinning Whippet Racing Club’ and you will to be kept up to date on all the activities.
