THE Scottish Conservatives have this week announced their local council candidate for the Kilwinning ward.
Dalry resident John Glover will battle for the seats which are currently held by Labour (2), the SNP and an independent.
John was educated at Twynholm School and Kirkcudbright Academy, specialising in history and languages. He worked in the agricultural engineering business and at the age of 27, moved north as general manager to a company in Elgin.
John said, “I feel that with my business experience and community involvement, I have a great deal to offer to the people of Kilwinning. I would work to maintain and improve local services and speak out on matters which are important to this historic town.
“I also believe that Scotland’s best interests lie within the Union and money should not be spent on another Independence Referendum.”
