THE latest local Employment Fayre organised by local politicians was held last week in Kilwinning.

The fayre, set-up by Patricia Gibson MP, took place on Friday, February 24 at the Kilwinning Campus of Ayrshire College with a wide range of employers actively recruiting on the day across all areas of the job market.

Patricia Gibson said: “Last Friday’s Employment Fayre was hugely successful with around 50 businesses actively recruiting on the day and hundreds of members of the public, senior school pupils across North Ayrshire, as well as Ayrshire College students in attendance.

“I want to thank everyone who helped make this event such a success, from attendee to employer to Ayrshire College itself and of course, local SNP volunteers who worked hard to promote an event that can only help in securing the employment of many individuals while introducing others to careers that they might not have previously considered. For those seeking work, that initial contact with an employer is essential and can be instrumental in securing formal interviews, employment and apprenticeships.

“The feedback on the day from both employers and attendees has been extremely positive and I am pleased this event gave so many people an opportunity to make contact with employers and potentially secure employment.”
