KILWINNING’S matchstick model maker has handed over his latest fantastic creation.

Jim Miller had his latest Church model presented on Sunday, March 19 and the latest creation was handed over to the congregation, in Jim’s absence, by the Session Clerk of Ahrensfelde Church, Berlin.

Last May, 2016, Jim presented a model to the Church of Scotland in Galston. Afterwards he was told that Galston is twinned with a Church in Germany. He was asked if he could possibly build a model of this as a gift from Galston to Ahrensfelde for the 30th anniversary of their twinning which is this year.

Jim of course agreed and the completed model was shipped over to Germany a couple of weeks ago, thankfully without any damage whatsoever. Jim and his wife hope to visit Ahrensfelde, Berlin, in the not too distant future to see the model “In Situ”

Jim said: “Britain may be leaving Europe, but the “matchstick man” has gone into it.”
