ABBEY Primary pupil Alix Martin has been unveiled as this year’s Segdoune Queen.

Alix and her Royal Party will be installed at the 50th Segdoune Carnival in Kilwinning on Saturday May 27.

Organisers Promoting Kilwinning thank all the schools for their help in shortlisting their candidates.

Organiser Joe Broussard said: “Each year it gets harder choosing a Royal and a depute, this year the party were officially selected on Thursday, March 30 at the Playz in Pennyburn

“Thank you to judges Jim Miller, Ann Robertson MBE and Mica Gilmour.”

The Royal Party this year are: Queen - Alix Martin (Abbey Primary), Depute - Campbell McLean (Whitehirst Park Primary), Princesses - Abbie-Ella McCann (Blacklands Primary), Ellie Wilson (Corsehill Primary), Summer Gordon (Pennyburn Primary), Poppy Kean (St. Luke’s Primary), Katie MacDonald (St. Winning’s Primary). 

Joe added: “Congratulations to all candidates and thank you to Playz for offering the venue for the selection.

“The Royal Party will be officially crowned at this year’s 50th Crowning at the Segdoune Carnival on Saturday, May 27 on Main Street.

“We are also holding a Ceilidh in the evening. 

“Promoting Kilwinning will honour this year’s Royal Party with a large parade.
