A MAN has dodged jail after he admitted to wilfully or recklessly destroying or damaging someone else’s property on four occasions and to assaulting a police officer.
Robert Lennox, 21, of Parkhead Avenue in Kilwinning, pleaded guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week to five charges.
His plea of not guilty to two charges were accepted by the prosecutor. On February 22 at Barr Street in Ardrossan, Lennox repeatedly punched and kicked a vehicle, and forcibly pulled the door handle from it, causing damage.
On the same date at Ardrossan’s Kilmahew Court, Lennox attempted to climb a drainpipe, causing it to break, and pulled on a satellite dish damaging it.
Also on February 22, Lennox attempted to headbutt a police constable at Saltcoats Police Station.
Lennox was given a Community Payback Order of 120 hours of unpaid work within six months as a direct alternative to custody.
The court also made a Restriction of Liberty Order.
