POLICE have arrested a man in connection with two robberies in Kilwinning.

The first alleged incident took place at around 11.30am on Monday, July 10 when a 76-year-old woman was allegedly robbed of her handbag whilst walking to the underpass near to Pennyburn Road. 

The second alleged robbery took place at the same place on Saturday, September 9 and involved a 55-year-old woman. 

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with both incidents. 

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
