A 38-year-old man threw knives at a Kilwinning caravan park then made threats on his way to the police station.

Gareth Coyle, from Glasgow, had previously pled guilty to two charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

He had returned last week for sentencing, but sentence was deferred again for the completion of a report. Coyle behaved in a threatening or abusive manner at a caravan in Viewfield Leisure Park on May 20.

He acted in an aggressive manner, shouted, swore, and threw knives. Later on, Coyle again behaved in a threatening or abusive manner during the course of a journey in a police van between Viewfield and Saltcoats Police Office.

He struck his head on the inner cage and kicked the inside of the vehicle, shouted, swore, and uttered threats of violence.

Coyle will return to the court on November 20 for sentencing.
