FOOTBALL teams at Kilwinning Sports Club have benefitted from a £1,500 boost from a local franchisee.
Bert Lindsay, who owns and operates two McDonald’s restaurants in Stevenston and Dumfries, donated the cash, which has enabled the teams to purchase new training equipment and kits.
Brian Lee, Chairman at Kilwinning Sports Club Youth Football Section, said: “The club and the many teams that are part of our set-up could not function without the support of local businesses such as McDonald’s, and local people like Bert Lindsay.
“The money Bert has donated has allowed us to buy kits and equipment for the benefit of all our teams.
“This is a great help as it allows us to spend the money elsewhere at the club where needed. Getting the new kits and equipment has created fantastic unity and team spirit and has given the kids extra motivation.”
Bert said: “Kilwinning Sport Club is a fantastic club that is dedicated to helping young players. “I look forward to continuing this partnership in the future.”
