AYRSHIRE College has been nominated for two UK awards for how it supports students and works with employers.

The Tes FE Awards are the most prestigious award ceremony for colleges across the UK.

Ayrshire College is a finalist in the Support for Learners and Employer Engagement categories.

The Support for Learners award nomination came as a result of an initiative that helps the college identify students who are at risk of withdrawing from their course at the earliest possible stage.

The college developed a retention tool, a web-based application that uses student data and machine learning algorithms to predict the likelihood of students withdrawing.

Heather Dunk OBE, Principal of Ayrshire College, said: “Being a finalist in two categories at this UK awards ceremony is recognition of the great work our staff do in supporting students and employers.”
