MINI Messi’s put their best foot forward this weekend, proving they could be Kilwinning’s football stars of tomorrow.

The KSC Kickers class got underway on Saturday morning with scores of youngsters turning up to try out some fancy footwork.

The class is headed by volunteer coach and former Buffs player, Barry Fleeting who put dozens of three and four-year-olds through their paces.

The football class is held at Kilwinning Sports Club every week and aims to develop kids’ core motor skills through games and challenges.

Club development manager, Colin Hunter revealed the weekly sessions are going from strength to strength.

He said: “We are now in week two of the brand new sessions and the response from the children and parents has been brilliant. Barry is just a great asset to the club and is superb with the kids. Someone like him who is so natural with the children and has the experience he has is just invaluable. The KSC Kickers class is going from strength to strength and it’s great to hear from the kids themselves that they are getting so much out of it.”

The club are always welcoming new football stars of tomorrow. If you would like your little one to attend, go along this Saturday 10am until 10.45am at Kilwinning Sports Club. Cost is £2.50 per child.
