KILWINNING Folk Club at the Buffs Tavern has been showing its potential to be a key part of the North Ayrshire music scene with a successful launch gig and a well-attended singers' night under the belt.
Tonight (Friday, October 17) brings the the venue's first major booking in the shape of Duffy’s Gypsy Band - one of Ayrshire’s top outfits.
Duffy's is a collaborative collection of cracking musicians influenced by everything from Johnny Cash to Gogol Bordello.
The seven-piece group is infamous on the local scene and good reports of past gigs flow through the crowd like wildfire in anticipation of the performance.
With everything on stage from bouzouki, violin, guitars and drums to clarinet and the outstanding double-bass they’ll have you jigging every time with their commanding and potent performance.
Tickets £6 on the door.
