Police are appealing for witnesses after a report from a British Airways pilot at 8.30pm on November 27, that the he had been dazzled by a laser light being shone from the ground near to the British Red Cross Society, Main Street, Kilwinning.
The pilot, who was approaching Glasgow Airport, was distracted by the light and contacted Air Traffic Control. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
A spokesperson from BA said: “The crew noticed a green laser light being shone at them.
"In accordance with normal operating procedures the crew avoided looking at the light and were certainly not dazzled by it.
"The incident was reported to Air Traffic Control, who informed the police, and the aircraft landed safely.”
