A KILWINNING woman has been fined after she was caught in possession of heroin in Stevenston. Claire Alison Higgens McCabe, 30, of Glenapp Place, appeared at court last week where the court heard that the police had cause to speak to the accused and she was detained and freely stated that she had a ‘tenner’ bag of heroin inside a cigarette packet. Peter Murray, defending, said that his client had previously had personal problems and that they gave rise to this incident but she has been free from drugs since this offence, which took place in March of this year. Sheriff Alistair Watson noted that he hoped that the conviction was a one-off and fined McCabe £280.
