A SIX-year-old who set up a charity fund to help other young victims of crime after his home was burgled, was given a special tour of a police station at the weekend.
Earlier this year Alfie Webster and his mum, Tanya, were burgled in their home in the Branksome area of Darlington earlier this year, with Alfie losing some of his most treasured possessions including his iPad.
The six-year-old was soon inundated with replacement items - too many for him, so he decided to re-donate them to the Women's Refuge in Darlington.
There they will benefit the large number of children that live there due to fleeing domestic violence.
As a special thank you to Alfie for his kindness officers from Durham Police gave him an all-access tour of the force's base in Spennymoor where he had a tour of the custody suite and met the newest recruit Ziggy the police dog.
Alfie, who attends Mount Pleasant Primary School, is continuing to receive donations in the lead-up to Christmas to re-distribute to other children in need and more details can be found on his Facebook page, Alfie's Big Idea.
