PUB IDOL SEARCH STARTS HERE

THE hunt for pub idol is on - as the Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald bid to find the top barman or barmaid for the local area for 2008 - and the punters will decide the winner!

Already on board in this popular competition are Four Seasons, Hip Flask, Rankin"s, Apollo, Bar One, Bobby"s Bar, Nonsuch, Basebowl, Cross Keys, Charlie"s Bar, Sullivan"s, Salt Cot,The Lauriston and Ardrossan Indoor Bowling Club.

And we"re looking for more pubs to join in the fun.

All local pubs and clubs have to do to enter is choose which barman or barmaid they want to represent them - and then get in touch with us by calling our editorial team on 01294 464321. Once a pub has entered, locals can start voting for their favourite right away - the coupon appears this week on page 63.

At the end of our competition the barman or barmaid with the most votes could win a superb prize of a holiday for two to Gran Canaria, complete with flights from Glasgow Prestwick, from prize sponsor LAH Travel.

The runner-up can also win a hotel break in Edinburgh - full details on both these fantastic prizes is below.
