West Kilbride is on list for top sightings

Recent figures released by the Ministry of Defence have revealed West kilbride to be the UFO capital of the UK.

Villagers have reported more sightings of unidentified flying objects that any other town or city over the last 10 years, with an incredible 18 mysterious objects having been spotted in the sky.

Dougie McKinnie, who saw a UFO in 2005, said: "I was down at the Golf Club at around 6.30am and I was just coming over the hill when I saw a big orange ball in the sky - too close to be the sun."

Hi was just interested to see that others have seen these orange balls in the sky. I was awakened this morning, sat 6th june, at around 1:30am by a man outside of my house on his phone to a friend saying that he was watching a UFO in the sky!

When i got up out my bed and looked outside the window, sure enough there was a big orange ball in the sky in the southern direction, which was moving quite slowly in the western direction!

I have read some people quote that it may be Chinese lanterns, which i may believe, appart from the fact that it seemed a lot larger that what i imagined Chinese lanterns to be and seemed completley unafected by the nights breeze, moving in a completley straight direction!

It looked to me more like a sun, believe it or not, but closer and i could see it quite clearly like that in the clear sky.
